Member for Lingiari has welcomed Labor’s commitment of extra road funding of $58million for roads in the Central Australian.
Anthony Albanese, Labor Shadow Minister for Infrastructure is in Darwin today to make a major announcement about an extra $173m for Territory Roads.
“Improving roads in Central Australia is always a priority and this money will be spent in Labor’s first two years and not in the never, never.” Mr Snowdon said.
The roads to benefit in Central Australia:
Santa Teresa $35m
Kintore/Haast Bluff $2m
“Unlike the CLP we will deliver real money for real projects that will make a real difference – and we will do it quicker!” Mr Snowdon said.
In total, Labor has agreed to the funding already committed over the next five years by the CLP in the NT and added an extra $173m for improving regional roads in Central Australian, Katherine and Top End regions.
“Labor will work with the NT Government to deliver road projects quicker.” Mr Snowdon said.
